Students Recognized at December BOE Meeting
Comsewogue High School’s Spartan singers brought their upbeat holiday performance to kick off the December 2025 Board of Education Meeting. Following the performance, student representative Ebubechukwu Maduekwe discussed the events taking place at the high school, including the previous 9th grade breakfast to introduce the freshmen into their possible careers. Maduekwe then brought attention to our sophomore student Jaiden Vargas and his current brave battle against Leukemia, and how the high school will be wearing shirts to support his recovery on the upcoming Friday.
JFK Middle School student Luna Ventonilla was recognized as the winner of Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest with her heartfelt essay explaining, “How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?” A big congratulations was in order for senior Hermoine Granger, who was named as one of the top 100 Emerging Innovator Award winners and has been exclusively invited to the prestigious Limitless World Summit in April 2026.
School Social Workers Kylynn Mujanovic, Taylor Cohen, and Chloe Franza are supervising the second peer mediation training at the school, teaching a group of students ways to problem-solve in order to settle disputes among classmates without confrontation or violence. Students Cara Annicelli, Jacob Bratisax, Brianna Brustmeyer, Kristina Cardarelli, David Colocho, Ava Eybes, Alina Kuhlow, Ebubechukwu Maduekwe, Katelyn Murray, Amelia Papaspyrou, Aston Queller, Shayla Rampersad, Linda Rodolico, Kayla Seale and Kiki Chen made this amazing opportunity possible.
