Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities

JFK offers a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activites for students in all grades.

  • Art Club
    Every meeting is something different. Follow along in structured projects, or create independently. You may take home anything you make!
  • Art Honor Society
    Students earning high grade averages in art and on their overall average are invited to apply in May of each year. Once inducted, students participate in a wide variety of creative endeavors to further enhance their own skills and enrich the lives of others both in JFK and in the community.
  • Best Buddies
    Fosters one-to-one friendships between students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering social interactions while improving quality of life and the level of inclusion. All students have the opportunity to be included in a variety of ways. This club allows for students to come together to make new friendships while appreciating and accepting their differences.
  • Book & Games Club
    Students meet in a bookstore style atmosphere to discuss/read/share, etc. books and also to play many types of games, including card and board games, computer, Rubik's cube, etc.
  • Chamber Orchestra
    This is a co-curricular club for all string students who wish to have an extra challenge outside of the regular orchestra classroom. We perform at a concert in the spring as well as a competition called the Long Island Music Festival in June.
  • Chef's Club
    Students learn to explore culinary treats that they can easily do on their own while following directions, sequencing and project accomplishments.
  • Drama Club
    Provides an opportunity for students to audition, rehearse, and participate in a Junior Musical each year. The club runs from November to March.
  • Dungeons & Dragons Club
    Step into a world of imagination, adventure, and teamwork! In this club, students create their own characters and embark on epic quests full of mythical creatures, mysterious lands, and daring challenges. Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned adventurer, you'll build creativity, problem-solving skills, and friendships along the way. All are welcome - no experience needed!
  • eSports Club
    A fun and engaging way to participate in competitive and casual video gaming while developing valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and digital citizenship. The club typically features popular games like Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and Mario Party, offering both individual and team-based play. It fosters a positive, inclusive community where students can connect, compete, and collaborate in a safe environment.
  • Eyewitness News Club
    Join us as we explore the exciting events happening at JFK and in the Comsewogue community through various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, X, YouTube, Twitter, and podcasts. We want to hear your creative ideas, so if you have a cool concept, share it with us! We cover reporting, production, social media and you will even have the opportunity to make the morning announcements at JFK!
  • Greenagers Club
    Works within the school and community to promote environmentally friendly practices. Club members become familiar with current environmental issues and learn ways in which to become more “green” in everyday life.
  • National Junior Honor Society
    Students are invited to the club based on grades and teacher recommendations. Community Service is stressed and students work to make the in-school and out-of school communities better for them being part of it.
  • PIT Orchestra
    This is an extra-curricular group that meets in conjunction with the drama club starting in November and running until March. We learn the music and perform for the spring musical every year. All musicians, both band and orchestra are welcome. This is an audition only group.
  • Science Club
    Join us in the exciting journey of discovery with the Science Club! Our mission is to spark a love for science and research among students by diving into the thrilling world of the scientific process. Together, we’ll boost our confidence and teamwork by participating in science competitions that bring out our competitive spirit!
  • Science Research (STEM Club)
    Curiosity meets innovation! Our mission is to inspire a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an engaging and supportive environment. Students will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity, build friendships, collaborate in teams, and experience the excitement of competition. Each week, you will collaborate with fellow students to design and construct your own LEGO robots. After building, you will program them to pre-designed missions on a dynamic playing field.
  • Sculpture Club
    Students use a wide variety of materials such as clay, wire, paper, plaster, cardboard, and more to create all things 3 dimensional!
  • Service Club
    Empowers students to engage in meaningful service activities and community projects that foster empathy and compassion. Through hands-on involvement, members not only support those in need but also experience the personal growth that comes from making a positive impact—both in their own lives and in the lives of others.
  • Student Council
    Students work to improve the culture and social interactions in the school. Effort is made to spend time outside of the students' comfort zones and meeting new people and challenges.
  • Technology & Computer Club
    We’re thrilled to have you join us for an exciting year filled with tech adventures! Our club is all about igniting a passion for technology in a fun and creative space. Here, you’ll make new friends, collaborate with teammates, and unleash your imagination. Activities include Minecraft adventures, rocketry, Spheros, LittleBits, Snap Circuit Kits and 3D Printer projects.
  • Tri-M Music Honor Society
    This is an invite only honor society for students who excel in both music and their general curriculum. This club is for the music student who wants to spread their love of music beyond the classroom by doing community service as well as performing in the spring NYSSMA festival.
  • Yearbook
    Students learn to work together to select how their milestones and memories will be memorialized in the Yearbook.
