All About Code

Code

It all began with an Hour of Code. Now we are learning more about writing code using these programs:

Blockly

Blockly consists of visual blocks that you drag and drop to create the code to solve the puzzle. "Under" the blocks is the JavaScript that makes it all work.

Crunchzilla

Self-directed lessons Learning JavaScript.

Made With Code (A Google Program)

Beginner and intermediate activities for learning Java Script.

Scratch

A programming language and online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation.

Ozobots

Small robots that can be programmed using paper and markers or the Ozoblockly program.  They can be used to create games, mazes, and they can even travel through a picture path you create for a story you have written.

Note: Students are introduced to each program through a series of teacher directed lessons, and are then encouraged to explore the programs and collaborate with one another.
